Alright readers. It’s official. I’m moving back to blogger. I’ve had so many issues here with WordPress. Especially as of late. So please change your RSS feeds to my new address – http://suddenexpression.blogspot.com (link at the bottom) ! I really don’t want to lose any readers!! Besides the address, not much will change. It will take a bit of time for housekeep though so be patient!!
I have to beg all of you to please go vote for my daughter!! She’s up for getting on a cover of Parents Magazine! Vote HERE for this photo.
Today’s Topic – Something A Bit Different
Something A Bit Different
It’s back, and this time it has the most amazing of prizes (look for the prize for ‘most creative post’). This was a massive success last year, and for many it was the highlight of the Blog Week, so this year you are challenged, again, to find a new way of blogging.
This is an experimental blogging day to try and push your creativity in blogging to the same level that you perhaps push your creativity in the items you create. There are no rules of a topic to blog about but this post should look at a different way to present content on your blog.
Without further ado, may I present Reader’s Choice! That’s right folks, you, my readers will pick my next project! And I promise to cast it on right away and finish it in a timely manner. So stay tuned to my blog. This is definitely very different from anything I’ve ever done and if I like it I may even do it again! I’m not just going to give you yarn/project combos, because then you wouldn’t really be deciding anything besides what I cast-on next. Nope. I’m giving you 4 yarn options and 5 pattern options. So you can do 1 of a few things here: you can pick your favorite yarn, and favorite pattern without thinking about how they combine. You can pick your favorite yarn and decide which pattern you think fits it best. You can pick your favorite pattern first and decide which yarn fits it best. Or you can just look at the options and pick the best overall combination.
All pattern photos were taken from the Pattern’s page on Ravelry so photo credit goes to them. I’ve set the polls to close after one week and will close May 4th. I absolutely cannot wait to see the results so I can cast-on!!! If you want to check out more posts like this click here. And if you think my post is very original and exciting please click here to nominate me!
I was checking in with The Blog Hub group on Ravelry, as I do pretty regularly and found a post from TammyG. She talked about a new meme for blogs called Pay It Forward handmade, so I headed over to TammyG’s blog Life & Yarn or Yarn & Life and signed up! Here’s the requirements:
1. I will send a surprise gift to the first three commenters on this post. The gift will be handmade by me. It will be sent sometime in the next 365 days. It will be a surprise. We all love getting surprises in the mail, right?
2. To sign up and receive a gift, you must play along, too. Pay it Forward on your blog, by promising to make a surprise for the first three people who comment on the post.
3. You must have a blog (that is updated, as I will blog stalk you to find the right gift for you).
4. After commenting here, you must repost this or something similar to your blog in 48 hours. If not, I will chose the next person who comments…
I think this will be so fun! At some point in the next year I will get a nice surprise, and I have a whole year to create 3 handmade surprises to give to some others and brighten their day. I want to give credit to Nomes’s Brag-a-long for creating this meme! Looking forward to seeing who I get to send some joy to!
Yes, you read that right. I’ve made progress this week. And not just a row or two. I’ve gotten past the sleeves! Which is just about half way or so on Miss A’s cardigan! I’ve managed to find some time this weekend to really do some knitting. I’ve made some progress on her bootie too, but real progress would mean that at least one of the two was done, so not much. But I’ll start on that again soon. I’ve given all my attention to the Cabled Raglan Cardigan because I want to get it done while it still fits.
As for reading, I’ve gotten almost half-way through The Choice by Nicholas Sparks. It’s amazing how much faster I can get through a book by listening to it rather than reading. And right now my reading is even slower with taking care of Miss A and a higher rate of exhaustion than usual. That hasn’t stopped me from getting sucked into another big series though. I’m sure you know the one everyone’s been talking about. The Hunger Games by Suzanne Collins. I’ve only read to about Chapter 3, but I’m truthfully surprised I got that far that fast (it’s fast for me….) and it has me hooked for sure! I’m blaming a friend for my purchase (and possibly new addiction)!
Things are starting to get a little bit back to normal around here, with of course the addition of a new little human that has become part of my routine (and my heart!). My Mom has come and left, and let me tell you how big of a help that was! My husband’s paternity leave has ended. Most of our unpacking is done, and we are pretty much moved in. And I’m starting to heal up nicely from my surgery (but I still can’t wait to start working out – 4 more weeks!!)
I was going to say I haven’t had time to knit, but thats really not accurate. I really just haven’t got my knitting out since babe has been born. Any down time I’m really just trying to sit and relax. But I’m going to pull the knitting out soon, I swear! There are a few projects that I will surely be frogging since I never really got them done for baby. Example….my Baby Surprise Jacket. I think it’s about 1/4 done and by the time I finish it (even if it was next week) Miss Annabelle will have outgrown it! She’s not exactly tiny, and she never really was! Once I frog a few items, I’m going to cast on a nice white cardigan for the little girl. She has one and it’s starting to get small, but I absolutely love it. It’s a necessary item in her wardrobe because she has so many cute onsies that I want to see when she wears them, but they are too cold for her to wear without something keeping her arms warm! I can’t believe I’m talking about my daughters like she’s a little fashion model or something, but I’ve found that I think I will always need a white cardigan for her!
That’s about all I have to say on the knitting front. I’m just so preoccupied with caring for my little bundle of joy! I just hope she doesn’t grow too fast (although everyone has already warned me that she will!!) She has also become the hubs whole world! I don’t know how he’ll be able to deploy in a year. It breaks my heart for every Father and Mother who has to leave their kids. I’m starting to realize that it’s very different than leaving a spouse.
