One Hundred!

Since June 28th, with my official Moving In post, I have posted 28 times.  Good, but I actually thought it would be more than that.  Anyway, I’m still amazed.  With my readers that is!!!  I have had over 1,000 views of my blog durring this time, and with my last post I hit 100 comments!!  Well, 101 to be exact but I broke that 100 point.  I’m so awestruck.  Amazed.  I guess when I started out blogging (with Anything But Blonde) I was really only doing it for friends and family to see.  Then when I tried to create a knitting only blog, but it was just too much here and there.  I needed everything together.  For that reason, and the fact that Blogger hated me even though I loved it,  I started here.  And I married my personal life with my knitting life.  I mean, I suppose knitting is part of my personal life right?  So all in all it makes a bit of sense.    So basically I wanted to tell you all that I’m so happy to have avid readers.  I’d say less than 1% of the comments are from people I actually know.  I never thought I would have such success.  ( i know, i know.  there’s people wondering how that is such a success, but to my little spot on the map it is!)  So here’s to you!!

In a side note, I really didn’t want to forget to mention the blog hub swap I’m in organized by Eskimimi.  I sent off my package last week and it has been received!  A big shout out to sarajewel over at Bird In Hand Farm who is posting everyday about the gifts I have sent her.  She wrote a very heartfelt note about me, and my blog!  I have to thank her for the kind words!  All of you should go check out her blog (especially if you like cooking or knitting!!!).

1st Work In Progress Wednesday

WIP Wednesday, an idea created by Tami’s Amis and Other Crochet .  You can check out the links to everyone participating at her blog.  I discovered this great idea through The Blog Hub group on Ravelry.  I feel like I can finally share what I am working on, since it’s not all baby stuff anymore.  I still have a baby something on the needles though, that has to be finished.  I am very excited about both of my projects this week!

The first I started a few weeks ago, but hadn’t really worked on.  And only one word is needed to describe my excitement: Wollmeise!  Yummy yarn!  And my first time casting some on.  The pattern is Simple Skyp Socks.  I started with a different pattern, but I think it was too simple for my taste.  So I ripped and started these.  I believe the colorway is My Old Blue Jeans but I’m not quite sure since the yarn came from the big “not so perfect” sale, and therefore the colors were not marked.

Next, I have finally cast-on my Citron!   And boy is it addicting.  I mentioned in an earlier post about the SP 15:Refresh swap I participated in that I received some amazing Malabrigo Lace in Col. China colorway.  I love it, and was thinking about making the citron since I saw it!  Then, when reading the pattern, I saw that it actually calls for Malabrigo.  This will be the first time I make something in the actual yarn it calls for. I can’t wait till I’m done with this, and I think it may have even turned me onto lace knitting!

Another Look

I wanted to share another picture I took from the castle at Kallmunz.  I can’t believe how well it turned out, since I had a horrible glare on the screen of my camera.   I never thought I would use my panoramic feature on my camera, but there are just perfect times for it!

I also haven’t shared anything hand made recently.  So many things have been surprises for friends or family with babies.  Well, I’m participating in a SWAP as part of the Ravelry group The Blog Hub.  So this project is actually a secret too, but I’m just going to show you a little sneak peek.  It isn’t exactly knit, but it sure is handmade :)
