It’s Wednesday Again!

I’ve ripped my house apart.  Every inch and corner.  And some parts twice.  But I still can’t find it.  I have been searching for a specific pattern booklet.  Specifically The Fancy Feet Ankle Kit.  I have the yarn…..just not the patterns.  And I’m starting some socks for some girls and I really wanted to use one of the patterns.  Well, yesterday I finally gave up.  Hopefully St. Anthony will make it reappear when I’m no longer looking.  So I cast on different socks….Lacy Summer Footlets from the Sock Yarn One-Skein Wonders Book.  At least I’m glad to be using another pattern I already own, and one I had actually added to my queue.  Can we say….another pattern crossed off the Knit My Queue page!!  So thats what you see here in the lower right hand corner.  Some small footlets (just cast-on) getting knit with circulars 2-at-a-time.

I also have a finished sock!!  Yay! My last pair took me about 4 months! This sock was done in less than two weeks.   I’m quite a happy girl about that.  I also have made some progress on my Lettuce sweater.  I’m about to join the front.  And I have to wind another skein of the yarn before I can continue.  I’ve made just a bit of progress on my Brandywine shawl.  I really like the pattern.

I’m still reading The Last Song by Nicholas Sparks.  I have to say that it’s kind of a slow start.  I also don’t read like I used to.  I would stay up in bed for hours.  Now I feel so tired I don’t even read a chapter before I start reading nonsense words.  I’m going to try to make myself read at other times of the day now (and maybe even put down the knitting every now and then!!).

I’ve made it to my second half of my Knit Girllls Tempted Fiber.  I’m very pleased with the first half.  I’m trying something different with the second half.  Then I will ply the two together.   I personally don’t know how it will look and I don’t really care!  I’m really just trying to do different things to get used to the spinning and knowing what kind of options I have.

Don’t forget to stop over and check out more WIPW and Yarn Over posts!!

  1. Love the spinning! I broke down this past weekend and signed up for a spinning class. DH really can’t wait for me to get a wheel and work on it in the living room. Haven’t messed with my drop spindle much lately, mainly because the fiber I’m working with on it right now has fairly short fibers and is frustrating me!!!

  2. I have The Last Song on my iBooks ready for me to read someday. It’s come higly recommended, so I can’t wait to read it.

  3. Don’t you love it when you find something while looking for something else? I’m sure that’ll be the case for the pattern book. I love the idea of ripping through your queue. I cleaned it up and try and keep it specifically to patterns I intend on making instead of “some day” patterns. Those go in faves. You’ll be happy to know I’ll be working on shawls as soon as my Knit Picks order comes in. They’re Mother’s Day presents (some will be late but hey, it’s better than nothing). I actually think I’m going to knit one or two instead of crochet. It’s been ages since I’ve knit anything!

  4. That yarn you’re spinning looks fantastic!
I also really like how you combined several WIP into one photo.

I have a drop spindle and roving that’s been sitting around for two years now and I’m too scared to attempt anything. Maybe if I see enough people living the dream it’ll inspire me to try it. 😉

  5. oh, fingers crossed you’ll find that pattern booklet! it looks like you have quite a few fun knits on the needles. i’m looking forward to seeing your progress. 🙂

  6. I have a few patterns I’ve been searching for months. It’s quite maddening.

Love your spinning. That’s great thing about, you just don’t know how it will turn out until your finished.
